Mothers are amazing truly so I don’t mind giving her what she wanted when her birthday comes around. I remember my mother will always get nice things for me even though she had to work her bones off. She cooked for me, clean for me and even cared for me when I got sick from food poisoning when I was 17. Her tolerance is something. You have one special mother there if you see her cleaning up your mess even though you are already of age. Moms will always be moms and that’s for sure!

Since my mother is very special, I always make it a point to go all the way just to get a nice birthday present for mom. She more than deserves anything I can think of to give her. Those presents that we give our mothers will never measure up to the years they took care of us. But time has its way of letting us return the favor. As we grow old and they grow older, she now needs us more than ever as it is their turn to depend on us. This is my case and I see it in a lot of people too.

So every year, I see to it that when her birthday comes, she gets all my attention. As much as possible, I want to make her feel that I appreciate her in my life. But buying a birthday present for mom is not easy. So what I do is I pay attention to what she loves doing pretty often. I know that she reads a lot while she enjoys a cupful of coffee. So I bought my mom a gift card from Starbucks. Now she gets to have one of the best tasting coffees in town. And when I ask how her day was at Starbucks, she would always smilingly say, “good to the last drop!” Isn’t it just wonderful?
