Why Are You Not Making Enough Money?

November 16, 2009 by Anna · Leave a Comment

I keep asking the same question over and over again. Why do some people make more money than others? The more I think of it, the clearer the answers become. If you think that you are not making enough money, read on and you might find some useful tips based on my experiences.

make moneyIf you’ve done your homework, then you probably already know that there is a lot of money to make on the net. The sad thing is you’ve never done anything about it. People are becoming so obsessed with the idea of bloating their bank accounts overnight without lifting a finger.

Unfortunately, while I continue to read the reviews on the latest moneymaking schemes on the net, I’ve been avoiding the steps that would generate money for my business. I was so distracted that each time I read something new, I’d spend 2 to 3 days trying to figure out how it works and the expense of building my own business.

Well, if you have been fooled into believing that building a web page and stuffing it with various products and services would make money, then I can’t blame you. I, too, have been in that situation. Always remember, NO TRAFFIC means NO INCOME.

Perhaps one way to expose your website is to send the pages to the search engines. Well, yeah, for a short time, my website was in top ten results and brought me some extra traffic. But unfortunately, when I lost that position, traffic dried up and never came back my way again.

In an effort to regain my position, I have submitted my pages to free classified ads, Yahoo Answers, joined forums, but these are all tedious and time-consuming processes. The results were quite discouraging and there’s no way I can continue to win with these on the net.

With these in mind, it was time to go back to business and marketing basics and head on to answer some underlying questions.

  1. Who exactly are interested in buying my products and/or services?
  2. How can I reach them in a very cost-effective manner?
  3. Determining who your potential buyers are can greatly help you find the best ways to reach them. Ask these questions:
  4. What benefits will the potential buyers of my products and/or services get?

Let’s say you are offering business opportunities that would help your prospects earn some extra money. Other benefits would include such as no longer working for a boss, financial independence, the ability to travel overseas, and this list could go on.

Now, the next thing to do is to contact these people. But how exactly do you do that? Where do they gather on the net? How will you ever find them? Are there others who are already contacting these groups of people?

Experience tells me that one of the best and effective ways to contact them is through ezines. You can literally find hundreds of ezines if you do Google search. Once you have found the ezines that your prospects are interested, you can use them to your own advantage.

Most ezines today accept free and paid classified postings. This can be a very effective way of bringing streams of qualified traffic towards your site. Another way is to write articles that you think would interest your prospects and submit them to the ezines for publication. Hundreds of ezine directories are hungry for good-quality materials that they can publish. Once your articles are published, you receive free publicity as an expert in your field and for your website as well.

Receiving targeted traffic in your site is usually the best and cost-effective way than doing the other way around. I am following my own piece of advice and benefiting from it. Why not try it yourself and let’s start making money on the web?
