Techniques of Blog Traffic Generation

Are there traffic generation strategies other than search engine optimization? Presently, the most trendy traffic generation strategies available in the net are pay-per-performance or, in short, “PPP”. This strategy essentially means that you would only pay for traffic when you actually receive some sort of quantifiable benefit from the traffic generation service.
To further clarify the concept, an example would be pay-per-click (PPC), which basically is one type of PPP. As the name obviously entails, you would only be charged once you click the advertisement. Currently, Google is the largest server that uses PPC advertisements. Google AdWords gives the means for Google to utilize PPC – it allows advertisers to bid on keywords and create small ads that will be distributed throughout a search and content network.
One other notable traffic generation strategy which does not fall under the PPP blanket is social marketing. This basically means you will have to promote your product face-to-face with other human beings. You can do this by communicating with potentially-interested buyers or clients through social networking systems, such as MySpace or any other similar website. This strategy can also be implemented through the use of emails and phone calls.
The last noteworthy traffic generation strategy you will want to think about is viral traffic generation. There are different ways to execute this strategy. One simple way is by actually creating an exceptional product and by providing excellent service for your customers. Eventually, if your products and services hold true to your promises and you have helped your clients and customers with their predicaments, they would do you a favor and help you in turn. They could help you out by recommending your products and services to other people. These other people could then be your prospective customers.
The other way to generate viral traffic is by allowing people to sort of steal your products. For example, you could give away free shareware products, which could only be obtained by those who do not have it through referral. This creates a “buzz” about your product and the demand for your product will rise, as there is now an available free product everyone can have access to. But in order for them to have the free access, they must find someone else who has it to get their download.
Although search engine optimization is important, it is essential that you take note of the other notable traffic generation strategies; otherwise, you will limit your business to a hobby.
