Affiliate Marketing – Additional Income in Your Blogs

One way of having a consistent source of income is by getting yourself into an affiliate program. An affiliate program is, for all intents and purposes, a system that allows vendors who did not create a product to become affiliated with it by selling it for a commission. Depending on how these vendors are promoting affiliate programs and which programs they promote, they could earn a 75% commission for every successful sale that they have worked on.

Affiliate Marketing – Additional Income in Your BlogsIf you are interested in promoting affiliate programs in your blog, you will want to consider the list of major third-party players. This list would include Link Share, ClickBank, and Commission Junction.

ClickBank and Commission Junction are both providers of most leading information product sellers and membership sites. If you want to promote affiliate programs and earn higher commission; ClickBank and Commission Junction will provide you with a 25% to 75% payment, which is the range of their usual offers.

When you use LinkShare in promoting affiliate programs, you will be encountering limitless supplies of programs that you can promote. Just to name a few — Netflix, Wal Mart, Target, 1–800–Flowers, Pet Smart, and Apple — all have affiliate programs administered through LinkShare. Physical products from these sources tend to produce less satisfying commissions – usually in the range of 5% to 15%.

If you decide to promote affiliate programs by using ClickBank, it is very important that you keep an eye on what your check threshold is set to. Most of the time, an amount of $100 will be set as your check threshold. If your preference would be to have them send you a check twice a month, regardless of how little you earn, you will have to change your settings to suit your choice manually.

If you decide to promote affiliate programs through LinkShare, payment methods will vary. Due to the enormity of the sizes of their sources, mainly corporations, LinkShare would usually give their payments on a monthly basis. Find out for yourself if this works well enough for you.

If you do not want to promote Commission Junction, ClickBank, or LinkShare products, you can always promote large Internet-based corporations, such as Google and eBay. Although, it is not familiar to many that Google has an affiliate program for AdWords and AdSense; and eBay has an affiliate program for auction accounts. Google and eBay have rewarding commission systems.
